North Korea fires missile, no damage reported | Bangkok Post: news

TOKYO/SEOUL - North Korea launched a missile on Sunday, the Japanese government said, adding it has received no reports so far of damage from the missile. South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said the North fired a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan, citing the country's Joint Chiefs of Staff. Details of the type of missile, launched around 7.55am (5.55am Thailand time), and its flight path were not immediately known, Yonhap said, adding that the South Korean military is checking if the missile was an intermediate-range Musudan. A Musudan missile has a potential range of between 2,500 and 4,000 kilometres, which would cover not only any target in Japan and South Korea, but could also reach US military bases on the Pacific island of Guam.
